FIA Karting European Championship: Calleja dominates as Baglin secures the European title

William Calleja (Parolin/TM) started on pole and elected to swap sides. Henry Domain (Henza/TM) joined him on the front row, with Champion-elect Noah Baglin (KR/IAME) in 3rd. 

Baglin dropped to 6th at the start and several karts went off the road, including Davide Bottaro (Kali/TM) and Bosco Arias (LN/TM). Ilie Crisan (Tony/Vortex) took 2nd from Domain, soon joined by Dean Hoogendoorn (Parolin/TM). Baglin regained 4th ahead of Domain, then passed Hoogendoorn for 3rd. Calleja had a clear track ahead of him and pulled away from the battle. 

Hoogendoorn lost 4th to Domain, while Zac Drummond (KR/IAME) was now 7th after gaining 17 places to keep his miniscule Championship hopes alive. Baglin moved up to 2nd, but 3.5s behind Calleja. Drummond dropped back slightly in the battle, the disaster struck and Drummond retired on lap 12.

Hoogendoorn took 3rd from Crisan, then it was a quiet race at the front. Calleja won by 3.520s from new Champion Baglin to maintain his unbeaten record. Hoogendoorn completed the podium with Crisan 4th ahead of Domain and Gustavo Marques Da Silva (KR/IAME).
