The Las Vegas XVI SuperNationals, organized by Skusa, ran on a special circuit created outside of the Rio Hotel & Casino. Chiesa Corse was on track with Lance Stroll, who went home with a great victory.
Lance Stroll – TaG Junior – A victory never so well deserved
In the XVI Supernationals the category that suits perfectly the Canadian is the TaG Junior, running with IAME Parilla Leopard engines. Here Lance Stroll immediately proves to be one of the fastest on the parking lot circuit of the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas (USA).
2nd after the qualifyings, in the heats he always places up front, closing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Since the regulation does not include a prefinal, with these results the Canadian starts the final in front row. Here, sitting on the outside lane, he pulls away 4th at the start: Stroll had foreseen the disadvantage of starting from the outside, so he keeps his cool and, lap after lap, climbs up. Initially 3rd, then 2nd, and eventually, closing the gap that kept him from the leader, he claims 1st place, with the added satisfaction of being a full second ahead of European champion George Russell, who follows in 2nd.
Stroll’s is a well-deserved victory that comes at the end of a weekend marked by his talent. Some bitterness still lingers on for the World Cup, where the Canadian was surely not helped by all the pressure felt in the finals, but in Las Vegas Stroll got his chance to show that he really knows how to race, schooling everyone.
