The WSK Super Master Series KZ2 Final in Lonato started under cloudy skies with a temperature of 7°. Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) shared the front row of the grid ahead of Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) and Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM). The third row consisted of Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) and Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM). Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) and Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena) withdrew due to injuries.
Denner made a good start, but Bertuca overtook him before the end of the first lap. Iglesias attacked without success and Vasile overtook him, but the Frenchman quickly recovered his 3rd place. Bertuca flew away far ahead of his pursuers while Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) was back in P6 ahead of Alex Maragliano (Maranello/TM). The Spaniard was immediately back in the top five ahead of Palomba. Bertuca maintained a lead of at least a second over Denner. Vasile attacked Iglesias again for 3rd place. David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) and his team-mate Maragliano were just outside the top five ahead of Palomba. Stan Pex (KR/TM) was very fast and passed Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) for 12th. Corentin Rousseau (Maranello/TM) was 16th and Arthur Carbonnel (CRG/TM) 22nd. Iglesias regained his 3rd position against Vasile, now under direct threat from Hiltbrand. Bertuca seemed to be managing his advantage with six laps to go while Denner had found new resources. Bertuca’s lead over Denner had dropped to 4 tenths by the last lap. Bertuca still managed to win in Lonato. Trefilov completed the podium ahead of Iglesias and Hiltbrand, Vasile finished 6th, Palomba 7th and Pex 8th with the fastest lap. Freddie Slater (Birel ART/TM) was 10th, with Rousseau 14th (+4 places) and Carbonnel 19th with a gain of 13 places.
