Under the clouds at Adria, the thermometer was no higher than 8° for the OK Prefinals of the WSK Super Master Series.
Kirill Smal (Energy/TM) kept his 1st place at the start of Prefinal A ahead of Dilano Vant’Hoff (Exprit/TM) and James Wharton (Parolin/TM). Franck Chappard (KR/Iame) started well in 7th position while Marcus Amand (KR/Iame) lost 11 places to 19th. Florian Rousseau-Ricci (KR/Iame) did not complete a lap. Wharton replaced Vant’Hoff at the front of the race, and Enzo Trulli (KR/Iame) in 5th had Smal and Robert de Haan (Energy/TM) in his sights. Wharton was ahead of his rivals and won the race. After a few difficult laps, Smal came back to 2nd ahead of his team-mate De Haan, while Trullli got the better of Vant’Hoff. Chappard finished 6th after some good battles, Amand was 13th.
Joseph Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) kept the lead, but Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart/Vortex) got off to a good start in Prefinal B and was 2nd ahead of Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame), Harry Thompson (KR/Iame) and Thomas Ten Brinke (Kosmic/Vortex). Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/Iame) dropped four places to 6th. Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart/Vortex) dropped to 34th and retired. Ten Brinke took 2nd place 1.4″ behind Turney, while Thompson and Hiltbrand battled it out for 3rd. Lola Lovinfosse (Tony Kart/Vortex) was fighting for 17th place. Back in 10th place, Rafael Camara (Exprit/TM) was the fastest on track. Turney won after leading the race from start to finish. Ten Brinke secured 2nd place with a seven-place gain, Hiltbrand eventually edged Thompson and Barnard was back in the top five. Antonelli finished 9th and Lovinfosse 16th behind Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic/Vortex), but was 18th due to a spoiler penalty. Marlon Hernandez (KR/Iame) regained five places to 26th before a penalty.
