The Qualifying Heat A-F opened the last day of the World Junior Championship at Alahärmä, and it was not easy. The weather was good, but the track was still very slippery after rain in the night. The choice of chassis and tyres was made at the last moment, in a hurry. Most of the favourites started on slicks and there were plenty of departures from the track in the many wet areas; despite the three practice laps. A driver went off on his own in a spectacular spin on the starting line. The slow procedure was triggered, then the race stopped with the red flag. Marcus Amand (Kosmic / Iame) was at the top of the standings at that time, but he was demoted by the immediate application of a spoiler penalty – a new rule… The race started again later under yellow flags, not without other exits and retirements.
Markus Kajak (Tony Kart / Vortex) won 3.8′ ahead of Aaron Koivula (Tony Kart / TM), up 20 places, but under investigation. Evan Giltaire (Sodi / TM) was in the top 10 ahead of Arvid Lindblad (Exprit / TM) and Christian Ho (FA Kart / Vortex). On the other hand, Ugo Ugochukwu (FA Kart / Vortex), Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Marcus Amand were among the 12 drivers who did not cross the finish line.
