It was raining, then it wasn’t, so would it rain? Anyway, the track was wet at Wackersdorf and dotted with puddles for the Academy Trophy repechage. Alexander Vromant, known as the unlucky, started from pole. There were no particular problems to note at the start, apart from a few slides, no doubt the spoilers causing them to avoid hitting other karts. Vromant made a good start, but Rubens Bouchabke robbed him of first position. Oliver York went on the attack for second place followed by Max Hesse and Pyry Kekarainen. Technical flags were waving in the Bavarian morning breeze. York was much faster and got away in the lead. Bouchabke dropped to 7th on the penultimate lap. York won in front of Hesse, the fastest on the track, Kekarainen 3rd, Ido Chen 4th, Cato Poulsen 5th and Alexander Vromant narrowly 6th.
