Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) went into the lead of final two for KZ1. Anthony Abbasse was facing the wrong way at the first corner, which is never good for results. Davide Fore (CRG / TM) attacked Ardigo, as Dreezen broke down immediately after, so he found himself in first place. Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) was then in third position in front of Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM), Patrik Hajek (Praga / Parilla) and Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) came back strongly after passing Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Parilla).
Fore increased his lead on Ardigo to 0.9” on lap 6 Verstappen was fourth, now having passed successively De Conto and Hajek. Further back, Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) and Yannick De Brabander (Maranello / TM) were also making a comeback into the top 10. Thonon closed up to Ardigo, both of them under threat from Max. Thonon passed the Italian on lap 9, and Verstappen followed a few hundred meters back. He encountered problems with his bumper and tried to release it from rubbing on the right rear tire while retaining his place.
With five laps to go, Fore was still a second ahead of Thonon, 1.5” from Verstappen who seemed to have solved the technical problem as he posted a fastest lap. It was a great victory for Fore from Thonon and Verstappen, a CRG triple ahead of Hajek in fourth ahead of Ardigo, De Conto, Pex, Lennox-Lamb and De Brabander.
