Punctuated by several rocky starts to the final, where drivers cut the track and dropped back … KFJ is a class of rowdy young drivers who are difficult to control! Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Dan Ticktum (Zanardi / Parilla), starting at the front, dropped to 7th and 8th from the second lap, Nikita Sitnikov (Tony Kart / BMB) took the lead, soon dislodged by Vladimir Atoev (Tony Kart / Vortex). David Beckman (Zanardi / BMB) closed on the two Russians. Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex), in 4th was attacked by the Canadian Parker Thompson (Energy / TM), but Norris was determined to make up lost time and was already in fourth on lap 5. Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) remained in the top five early in the race, then fought for seventh place.
Next Beckman took the lead before the halfway point, with Sitnikov in his wake. It didn’t last! Atoev first passed, but Norris was not far away … He took the lead back on the 9th lap. Atoev wassecond, Thompson was third ahead of Beckman and Sitnikov. Incredibly fast, Norris left behind his opponents. Beckman and Sitnikov were losing ground. Lorandi attacked Thompson for third place, then Atoev for second. Norris won with a more than respectable lead of more than 3 seconds, and set the fastest lap.
10 drivers remained in the dust, Darras, Bale, Betsch, Daruvala, Ticktum, Defourny and Sitnikov, which is a lot …
