The inspections of the new homologated products are completed and the list of new chassis, brakes and bodywork is official. Almost 100 new homologations were carried out and there have been no fewer than 45 re-homologations of products the validity of which expired on 31st December 2011.
New makes in the panorama of valid chassis for 2012-2017 are as follows: Lotus Karts (manufactured by Wildkart), Vorton (manufactured by OTK), ART Grand Prix (made in Emme Racing), Bremer (made in PCR), Velox (the chassis range of the engine Manufacturer SGM/Severi) and two brands already seen in the 2011 Championships, although strictly speaking they could not then claim the official status of makes: Praga (manufactured by Intrepid) and Formula K/FK. Andrea Bertolini’s Team has taken the option to separate the manufacturing of its chassis between two Manufacturers, Parolin making the Formula K and CRG the FK. Most of these new makes will directly be involved in the CIK-FIA Championships in 2012, including as suppliers of chassis within the framework of the “U18” World Championship.
The foray into Karting made by Automobile Teams aiming to create formation channels, is materialising with the fruition of projects such as those put together by ART Grand Prix, Lotus Karts and Formula K.
Rather new but not quite, New Taifun Kart (by Thomas Unterkircher), Kali Kart (by CRG) and Italcorse (by DAM) ring familiar bells for the specialists as those brands had their hours of glory respectively in the years 1970, 80 and 90.
As regards the new validation of products dedicated to Karting, it is also worth mentioning the publication of the list of lubricants approved for 2012, which can be consulted by clicking here.
