It was an exciting front row in KZ2 for the final on Sunday at the GPO with Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter), the pole sitter, and Thomas Mich (Birel / TM). The pack was agitated, but Abbasse took the lead ahead of Mich and Tony Lavanant (PCR / TM) who was determined to get a result and he set the fastest lap. Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) retained his fourth place in front of Morgan Weber (Merlin / TM) who had made an impressive start. The 3 leaders, previous champions, escaped. In 6th, Mathieu Gaillard (Energy / TM) was defeated by Benjamin Da Silva (Birel / TM) and focused on Weber to go more than a second ahead.
At halfway Abbasse consolidated his leading position with better times when the lead pack spread out. Gaillard had narrowed the gap to Weber who closed on Fiault. But there wasnno change of position and Anthony Abbasse won clearly from Mich and Lavanant for a prestigious podium. Fiault finished 4th, 5th was Weber, and Gaillard 6th.
