The speed of Beitske Visser’s progress is always astonishing. This young Dutch girl gathers experience with surprising ease. By perfectly mastering the difficulties of the standing start adopted in gearbox kart races, Beitske took the chance to take another step forward at the WSK round in Genk.
“I am very happy I won the heat ahead of the best drivers in KZ1, the top category! I trained well to improve my starts and now this is no longer a problem for me. In the pre-final, I found myself in second row, just behind Bas Lammers and Jonathan Thonon, currently the 2 greatest drivers! Unfortunately, I was bumped into on the second bend, I even thought I had stalled. I restarted from 20th place and then climbed to 10th. In the final race, the track was a bit slippery. I cached up on Yard Pex, leader of the KZ2 race, but I was hampered twice while Bas was reaching us“.
With this second place, Beitske increases her advantage over the third in the championship standings, but her goal remains clearly to win in Sarno, at the last round of the WSK Euro Series 2010.
