Podium KZ1
Anthony Abbasse and Jonathan Thonon were on the front row for the KZ final. Abbasse had the best start and took the lead. Iglesias got ahead of Thonon, Nato and Renaudie. The surprisingly good Maxime Ladic was in 6th. Abbasse got away already, with an 0.7s lead by lap 3. Nato attacked Thonon to gain 3rd place. Quite far behind was Renaudie in 5th, while Lammers was closely followed by De Conto.
On lap 6, Nato outbraked Iglesias, and was second. Abbasse kept his lead of 7 tenths over the chasing pack led by Nato from Iglesias, Thonon and Renaudie and it was now halfway. Nato raised his game and closed on the leader while getting away from Iglesias. These 5 drivers were running in the same tenth.
After 7 laps, Nato was within 3 tenths of Abbasse and Thonon stole 3rd place from Iglesias. But Abbasse didn’t let the victory slip away and controlled his opponent. On the penultimate lap, Nato was back in the wheeltracks of Abbasse, but the Sodi driver resisted brilliantly until the finish line to clinch victory. Thonon (CRG/Maxter) was 3rd, Renaudie (PCR/TM) 4th, Iglesias 5th (Intrepid/TM) and Lammers (Intrepid/TM) 6th.
