Max Verstappen – KF3
The second meeting of the WSK Euro Series confirmed CRG’s domination in KZ1 and KF3.
Jonathan Thonon kept the pressure up in KZ1, on the Lonato circuit, which seemed a priori less suitable for the power of his Maxter engine. The Belgian driver got the best out of his kart to be back in the top 3 after he lost some ground in timed qualifying and conquered the leadership in the championship standings. French Norman Nato staged a remarkable comeback in competition 2010, keeping his CRG in the lead pack, and was second in the final.
Despite his young age, Max Verstappen remains the man to beat in the restless pack of KF3. After winning the pre-final, he gave it all in the final, before making the wise decision to secure a second place that consolidates his position as leader of the championship.
Michelle Gatting, member of the CRG Junior Team, was not far from the third step of the podium in KF2. With her great sense of attack, the young Danish girl staged an exciting performance by climbing up from 16th to 4th place. Although she could not keep the third place until the end of the race, she demonstrated once again her huge potential at the wheel of her CRG/Maxter.
For the time being, things are a bit more difficult in Super KF. The team knows the reasons of its lack of performance and the next races should see a reverse in the trend. Davide Forè gained access to the SuperPole and Arnaud Kozlinski staged one of the recoveries that are his trademark, from 26th to 7th place, after a collision caused his elimination from the pre-final.
