The 11th edition of the Monte Carlo 6-hour race is over. Once again, AAD did magnificent job in organising this endurance race, the only one of its kind in the world. The Londonliving.com team from Germany dominated the field, leading the race from start to finish. Sacha Viets, Marcel Lipp and Dean Hawkey proved unbeatable in all three 2-hour heats of this 392-lap race, which they finished in record time at an average of 74 k.p.h. Second team past the flag was Coast Organisation /Marriott, the best-placed French team, four laps behind the winners. The team, managed by Jean-Claude Rulfo, comprised Clyde Billaud, Gérard Farina and Bruno Prokhof. Despite picking up a stop and go penalty, Capocaccia just managed to get on the podium. Kartograph/Ecole Waldorf and Screen 4 life complete the top 5 standings. www.brightec.com were in 3rd place for much of the race but dropped back three places when Simona de Silvestro spun off due to a brake problem. The 3 Diable team, racing exclusively ACM karts, took 7th place on its 11th participation in the event. Monte-Carlo Racing finished 8th, so no podium place this year. 9th place went to Richard Ward’s Blackout/Orbital Berbner team, after initially being classified 11th. And finally Barwa, in only its third participation in the event, just made it into the top ten. The Barwa group is a Qatari company that is partnering with the Principality in a big land reclamation project and which takes part in a lot of events in Monaco.
