The OK Prefinals of the WSK Super Master Series took place on a sunny Sunday lunchtime.
Prefinal A: Superb victory for Pavan
Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex) was back in the lead, 1.5” ahead of David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex), then Roland Kuklane (Tony Kart/TM) 3rd, Davide Bottaro (CRG/Iame) 4th for a time. Salim Hanna (KR/Iame) was back in 4th place ahead of Markus Silkunas (CRG/Iame). Pavan increased his lead over Walther, while Silkunas moved up to 4th behind Kuklane. Tiziano Monza (Tony Kart/Vortex) had regained 5th position from Hanna. Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) were just outside the top 10. Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) left the scene midway through the race. Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) was up to 7th, but an incident eliminated him at the same time as Silkunas and Kuklane on lap 10. Lewis Francis (KR/Iame) was back in 5th place, followed by Quincé and Consani. Pavan didn’t overdo his talent to win the race by more than two seconds ahead of Walther and Monza, who completed a hat-trick of wins for the Tony Kart Racing Team. Hanna was 4th ahead of Francis and Bottaro. Quincé finished 7th and Consani 8th.
Prefinal B: Ramaekers a solid winner
Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) got off to a perfect start from 1st position, while Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) successfully stormed into 2nd place ahead of Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) , Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) and Elia Papacena (Tony Kart/TM). Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) had lost ground and Freddie Lloyd (LN/TM) was unable to start. Anatoly Khavalkin was quickly back up to 6th (+6 places). Wherrell attacked Eyckmans for 2nd place. Ramaekers had a lead of 9 tenths over Wherrell at the halfway stage. Khavalkin was back in the top five. Wolfe set the fastest time in 13th position. Matveev moved up to 3rd followed by Khavalkin, with Eyckmans dropping back to 5th. Xavier Avramides (Tony Kart/Vortex) was very fast and was interested in Khavalkin’s 5th place. Ramaekers finished at a high pace to win 1.2″ ahead of Wherrell. Matveev secured 3rd place ahead of Eyckmans and Khavalkin. Vivek Kanthan (Parolin/TM) finished in the top 10, followed by Fionn MacLaughlin (KR/Iame).
