The third round of the WSK Super Master Series was well attended by KZ2 drivers at Franciacorta, despite the announcement at the start of the week that the first round of the European KZ / KZ2 Championship, originally scheduled for this track at the beginning of April, would be cancelled. 85 drivers were registered, the sky was very overcast and the temperature reached 9°.
Session 1: Gustafsson – 45”977
Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) was fastest in 45”977, with Maksim Orlov following at 0.190”, then Kacper Schormans (Sodi/TM) and Matthéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM), Menyhert Krozser (Parolin/TM) for the top five. Artem Severiukhin (Birel ART/TM) was 6th ahead of Marijn Kremers (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Paolo De Conto (Parolin/TM). Arthur Carbonnel (CRG/TM) finished 10th, Dorian Guldenfels (Birel ART/TM) 21st and Tim Locati (Sodi/TM) 22nd.
Session 2: Leuillet – 46”104
Francesco Celenta (Tony Kart/Vortex) was fastest on the second lap ahead of David Trefilov (Maranello/TM). Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) took the lead on lap 3 ahead of Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) and Giuseppe Palomba (Sodi/TM). Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) led on the fourth lap and finished in the lead with a time of 46’104, 6 hundredths ahead of Markus Kajak (Maranello/TM). Vasile was 3rd, van Walstijn 4th on his return to competition, and Palomba 5th. Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) was 8th, Arthur Poulain (Sodi/TM) 14th, Celian Gallasin (CRG/TM) 18th and Enzo Lacreuse (DR/Modena) 20th.
Session 3: Albanese – 46”048
Simon Rechenmacher (KR/TM) had a number of close calls with Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM), but it was Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) who was fastest in 46’048, 0.162s ahead of Bertuca, followed by Rechenmacher. Jean Luyet (Birel ART/TM) took 4th place, Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) 5th ahead of Miguel Costa (Parolin/TM). Téo Blin (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 21st.
