The KZ2 field at Lonato was stronger than the previous week, at the first round of the WSK Super Master Series. Qualifying was contested by 54 drivers in sunny conditions, but with a temperature of 7°C.
Session 1: Denner – 45”175
Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) started ahead of Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Artem Severiukhin (Birel ART/TM). Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) then joined the battle with Markus Kajak (Maranello/TM). Denner remained the fastest in 45”175, two hundredths ahead of Hiltbrand and five ahead of Kajak. Behind Maximilian Schleimer (Maranello/TM), Leuillet took 5th place ahead of Marijn Kremers (Tony Kart/Vortex). Celian Gallasin (CRG/TM) finished 18th, Ruben Caiafa (Sodi/TM) 22nd and Antoine Desmonts (Sodi/TM) 25th.
Session 2: Vasile – 45”433
Andrea Dalé (CRG/TM) was ahead of Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Matthéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) on the second lap. Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) regained the lead on the third lap to finish in 45’433. Bertuca was 2nd at 45 thousandths, Daniel Stell (KR/Iame) 3rd and Spirgel 4th at 63 thousandths and Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) 5th ahead of Dalé. Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena) finished 17th, Tim Locati (Sodi/TM) 23rd and Dorian Guldenfels (Birel ART/TM) 25th.
