Here are the appointments for the 2024 racing season, with the dates and circuits that define the calendar for all the titled events for the ACI Italian Karting Championship and the other titled events which, in 2024, will include the new ACI Sport Area Cup, the ACI Sport Champions Cup and the National Trophy.
The Italian ACI Karting Championship.
Among the highlights, the ACI Karting Italian Championship includes the usual 5 rounds spread throughout Italy, with 5 categories, at Triscina, La Conca, Val Vibrata, Sarno and Lonato. The MINI Gr.3, MINI Gr.3 U10 and KZ2 categories will be accompanied only by the two new OK-N and OK-N Junior categories, which have enjoyed great success since their debut and have high expectations for the coming season. KZN, in the UNDER, OVER and OVER 50 categories, will compete for the title in a single round at Viterbo.
The ACI Karting National Trophy.
The National Trophy will see the participation of MINI G.3, MINI Gr.3 Under 10, OK-N and OK-N Junior and will take place at the same time as the single round of the Italian KZN Championship, on the same Viterbo circuit.
Legend 100/125.
The Legend 100/125 category will take part in a single round of the Italian championship, at the same time as the fifth round of the Tricolore at Lonato.
ACI Sport Area Cup and ACI Sport Champions Cup.
The ACI Sport Area Cup and the ACI Sport Champions Cup are the big new additions to the 2024 calendar. These one-off events will take place in Castelletto for the North Zone, Corridonia for the Central Zone and Battipaglia for the South Zone. As for the islands, they will take place in Alghero, Sardinia, and Triscina, Sicily. The categories are as follows: MINI Gr.3, MINI Gr.3 under 10, OK-N, OK-N Junior, KZ2, KZN under 10, KZN over 10. Participation is open to all licence holders who have taken part in at least one Coppa Italia race in their region of residence.
The top 10 finishers in each category in the North, Centre and South zones, and the top 3 finishers in the Sardinia and Sicily zones, acquire the exclusive right to take part in the ACI Sport Champions Cup, which is therefore contested by a closed number of 36 riders in each category, in a single round at Battipaglia.
The Italian Zonal Cups have also been confirmed, with a maximum of six events instead of eight as in 2022. The list of events will be announced as soon as possible.
