At the end of the morning, the OK Prefinals benefited from sunny skies and 25° in the WSK Euro Series at Franciacorta.
Prefinal A: Kutskov well ahead
Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) attempted an attack on the very first lap, but Kirill Kutskov (KR/Iame) took advantage to take the lead ahead of Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame). Miguel Costa (Parolin/TM) was 4th and Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) 5th when yellow flags were waved throughout the track on lap 2. The race was restarted on lap 4. Gomez repeated his ill-fated attack with the same failure. Eyckmans was 2nd, more than 2” behind Kutskov. Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) was 3rd ahead of Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) and Nakamura-Berta. Kutskov won by almost 5” ahead of Tye, Eyckmans finished 3rd ahead of Morgatto and Costa. Arthur Poulain (KR/Iame) finished 8th, while Nakamura-Berta dropped back to 10th.
Prefinal B: Powell’s winning comeback
Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) led ahead of Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) and Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame), while Alex Powell (KR/Iame) came 4th. Joe Turney (KR/Iame) moved up eight places to 5th. Stolcermanis had taken the lead from Lammers. Andrea Dupé (KR/Iame) was 8th behind Tarnvanichkul. Powell then led the race ahead of Stolcermanis, Fionn MacLaughlin (KR/Iame) and Turney. Lammers was 5th. Dupé retired, Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) came back to 11th. Powell put in a string of fastest laps and flew to victory, but Lammers remained on pole for the Final. Powell took the win, 1” ahead of Stolcermanis, MacLaughlin 3rd, Lammers 4th ahead of Turney. Iglesias finished 8th.
