The weather was fine, with 22° and a few rays of sunshine at Le Mans for the RMCIT Senior Max Super Heats.
Super Heat A: Rillaerts from start to finish
Kai Rillaerts (Tony Kart/Rotax) was leading on the first lap ahead of Lewis Gilbert (Tony Kart/Rotax) and Montego Maassen (Kosmic/Rotax) then Devyan Roest (Tony Kart/Rotax). Ethan Pharamond (Kosmic/Rotax) dropped five places to 5th followed by Arthur Robin (Gillard/Rotax). Tom Vouaux (Gillard/Rotax) was 5th. Rillaerts’ lead melted away under pressure from Gilbert. Micah Barthélémy (LN/Rotax) was back in 13th place with the fastest time of the day. Three drivers were pressing in on Rillaerts’ wake – Gilbert, Maassen and Roest. Luuk Neessen (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 5th ahead of Vouaux. Tituan Lescalié (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 11th fastest. Rillaerts seemed to be able to control the chasing group. The Belgian was 7 tenths ahead of Gilbert. Roest finished 3rd, Maassen 4th and Neessen further back in 5th. Vouaux secured a superb 6th place ahead of Pharamond and Lescalié. Barthélémy was 11th ahead of Robin.
Super Heat B: Kimber wins serenely
Mark Kimber (Gillard/Rotax) led at the start, Austin Lee (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 2nd, Jules Roussel (Sodi/Rotax) 3rd and Elia Pappacena (Tony Kart/Rotax) 7th. Roussel attacked Lee for 2nd place. Colin Wazny (Kosmic/Rotax) was 4th ahead of Georgios Kafantaris (Tony Kart/Rotax). Pappacena then returned to the top five, followed by Kovacs Zsombor (Tony Kart/Rotax). Nothing was decided for victory in the leading trio, while the battle for 4th position was intense between nine drivers. Macauley Bishop (LN/Rotax) set the fastest times in his climb to P6 (+8 places). Kimber took a solid victory three tenths ahead of Roussel. Lee finished 3rd, Pappacena was 4th by over 3 seconds, Kovacs 5th ahead of the astonishing Bishop and Kafantaris in 7th was followed by Oscar Pellemele (Sodi/Rotax).
Super Heat C: Hunter despite the rain
Superb start from poleman Ethan Jeff-Hall (Tony Kart/Rotax) followed by Kai Hunter (LN/Rotax) and Matthews Higgins (Tony Kart/Rotax), then Maxence Bouvier (Sodi/Rotax) 4th and Guillaume Treillard de Quinemont (Kosmic/Rotax) 5th. Adam Rahali (Kosmic/Rotax) moved up to 6th before dropping to 4th on the second lap. Simon Périgny (Tony Kart/Rotax) got the better of Bouvier. A very fast Tom Billout (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 8th ahead of Paul Grisel (Kosmic/Rotax). Rahali moved up to 3rd then 2nd, 4 tenths behind Jeff-Hall. Adam unashamedly took P1 at the halfway point ahead of the three British drivers. Jeff-Hall reacted and regained control of the group of six. Bouvier led a frenzied group battling for 6th position. Further back, Tom Langlois in 16th place had made up 12 places. Hunter attacked for 1st position ahead of Jeff-Hall, Higgins and Rahali. Billout had retired. A little rain spiced up the end of the race from lap 12, slowing performance by 2″ per lap. Hunter controlled the race and won 58 thousandths ahead of Jef-Hall, 5 tenths ahead of Higgins, with Rahali hot on his heels. Périgny took a superb 5th place, Bouvier finished 7th, Grisel 8th and Joseph Mattias (Redspeed/Rotax) 9th. Louis Juin (Kosmic/Rotax) had made up 17 places to 12th ahead of Chloé Cannard (Tony Kart/Rotax), then Alexandre Villiod (CRG/Rotax) 14th, Treillard 15th, Nolan Lemeray (Sodi/Rotax) 18th ahead of Hugo Grasteau (Tony Kart/Rotax) .
