Gabriel Gomez (CRG / IAME) got off to a superb start in the Super Heat, immediately overtaking Dutchman Rene Lammers (Parolin / TM), as British poleman Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR / IAME) did a little later. Lammers came back to 2nd, but as he attacked Gomez, he was in turn caught by Nakamura-Berta and even Italian Mattia Colnaghi (CRG / IAME).
Behind him, Frenchman Jules Caranta (Energy / TM) passed Brazilian Matheus Morgatto (Birel Art / TM), allowing Italian Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart / Vortex) to get in between them. The following laps were not kind to Coluccio, who then lost place after place. While Gomez got away, Lammers regained 2nd place and set the fastest lap. The Dutchman set off in pursuit of Gomez with Nakamura-Berta and Colnaghi in his wake.
In the end, the positions remained unchanged with Gomez winning ahead of Lammers, Nakamura-Berta and Colnaghi. Behind Caranta, who finished an excellent 5th, Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin / TM) was 6th, ahead of Denmark’s David Walther (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Morgatto.
The second Super Heat got underway with a perfect start from Jamaican Alex Powell (KR / IAME), while Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy / TM) lost his 2nd place to Britain’s Joe Turney (KR / IAME), watched by Brazilian Miguel Costa (Parolin / TM) and Ireland’s Fionn McLaughlin (KR / IAME). While Powell was getting away, Turney and Stolcermanis were doing each other no favours. The Latvian eventually made the difference, leaving Turney to battle it out with Great Britain’s Nathan Tye (Sodi / TM) and Thailand’s Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR / IAME), who was well back in contention.
After a bad move against him, Turney fell back a few places. At the end of the race, there was a tangle for Tarnvanichkul, who was in a hurry to overtake Tye. Powell maintained his 1st place against the fast Stolcermanis. Costa confirmed his ease at Rodby by taking 3rd place ahead of Kirill Kutskov (KR / IAME), who had come back well after a few difficult laps. McLaughlin, who had taken 3rd, dropped back due to a double penalty (spoiler and sporting). Estonian Mark Dubnitski (CRG / IAME) regained 6th place ahead of three drivers on the comeback trail: Spaniard Lucas Fluxa-Cross, Australian Xavier Avramides (KR / IAME) and Pole Gustav Wisniewski (Exprit / TM).
