The weather in Valencia was good on Sunday morning for the OK Super Heats of the first event of the Champions of the Future Euro Series 2023. The temperature was 17° and the wind from the day before had disappeared.
After an action-packed first lap, Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was followed by Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame), Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM). Nakamura-Berta took the lead on the second lap, followed by Poulain and Stolcermanis. Hélias then dropped back to 6th position. Ean Eyckmans (Tony Kart/Vortex) was back in 3rd and Joe Turney (KR/Iame) 4th ahead of Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame). Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) was 8th just behind his team-mate Stolcermanis. Turney was in the top three before attacking Poulain for 2nd position. Hélias’ ordeal continued in 14th position. At the halfway point, Nakamura-Berta still had a second’s lead, but Turney was closing in. Poulain, whose tyres were slipping more and more, then gave in to Tarnvanichkul and Eyckmans. Turney passed Nakamura-Berta on the last lap, but finished 2nd by 0,131”. Tarnvainchkul was 3rd by 2”, Eyckmans 4th and Poulain 5th. Caranta took 7th place ahead of Stolcermanis and Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM). Hélias had to settle for 13th place. Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) remained 16th, Andrea Dupé (Sodi/TM) 25th and Maxens Verbrugge (Birel ART/TM) 30th after a penalty for cutting the chicane.
