The OK-Junior Qualifying session of the Champions of the Future Euro Series took place in sunny Valencia with already more than 20° on the thermometer. The 85 drivers were divided into three groups, alternated with the OK category.
Session 1: Hanna Hernandez 55”562
Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) was in the lead on the first lap. Salin Hanna Hernandez (LN/Vortex) responded on the second lap to finish in 55”562, 26 thousandths ahead of Stepan Antonov (KR/Iame), separated from Alfons Miettinen (Gillard/Vortex) by only a thousandth. Scott Kin Lindblom (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 4th fastest, ahead of Alp Hassan Askoy (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Drummond.
Session 2: Ramaekers 55”029
The second group started strong and early with Eliott Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex) in the lead ahead of Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) and Jack Iliffe (Parolin/TM), all of whom were then overtaken by Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame). Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) was the fastest on the second lap with a time of 55’029, a provisional pole with a lead of 3 tenths. The third lap brought no improvement. Kaczynski remained 2nd at 0.339”, Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) 3rd, Schaufler 4th and Noah Monteiro (KR/Iame) 5th ahead of Vivak Kanthan (Parolin/TM) and Costoya. Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM) was behind in 24th position.
Session 3: Bondarev 55”424
The first lap went in favour of Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame), who was already faster than the first session, followed by Dries van Langendonck (Energy/TM) and Filippo Sala (Sodi/TM). The rest of the session did not much change the hierarchy. Bondarev stayed on his 55”424, two tenths ahead of Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex), then Sala 3rd, Arjan Kraling (KR/Iame) 4th and van Langendonck 5th.
