The sun was back in Franciacorta on Sunday lunchtime to warm the air up to 10° during the OK Prefinals of the second round of the WSK Super Master Series.
Prefinal A: Olivieri makes a winning comeback
The first lap was very heated and James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex) took the lead ahead of Gabriel Gomez (CRG/IAME) who moved into the lead on lap 2. David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd, Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame) 4th and Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th. Gomez, Egozi and Walther were all in the top three, while Emmanuel Olivieri (IPK/TM) came back to 4th ahead of Tarnvanichkul and then passed Walther in 3rd. Olivieri continued to build on his success and took the lead on the 11th of the 14 laps by attacking Gomez. Olivieri won with impressive speed over Gomez. Egozi was 3rd ahead of Walther and Tarnvanichkul. Helias finished 6th, Andréa Dupé (Sodi/TM) 12th and Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) 19th.
Prefinal B: Fine victory for Lammers
Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) started in the lead, Joe Turney (KR/Iame) moved into 2nd place ahead of Marcus Saeter (Tony Kart/Vortex). Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) and Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) did not finish lap 1. Turney took the lead on the third lap. Lammers replied on the next lap with Saeter in his wake. Shimo Zhang (KR/Iame) was 4th ahead of Simone Bianco (CRG/Iame). Lammers had a lead of nearly 8 tenths at the halfway point against Turney and Saeter. Bianco was 4th ahead of Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame). Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM) was back in 6th position followed by Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM). Lammers increased his lead to win the race 1” ahead of Turney. Saeter followed in 3rd position in front of Bianco and Cui. Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 18th and Maxens Verbrugge (Birel ART/TM) 28th.
