The WSK Champions Cup X30 Senior Prefinals took place in Lonato on Sunday morning in sunny and cool conditions.
Prefinal A
Brando Pozzi (Tony Kart/Iame) kept the lead over Andrea Giudice (Tony Kart/Iame) and Pacôme Weisenburger (Redspeed/Iame). Matis Barbe (LN/Iame) was 9th ahead of Arnaud Malizia (Tony Kart/Iame) and Marc Lo Piccolo (Redspeed/Iame). Giudice dropped back to 4th in favour of Weisenberger and Federico Albanese (Parolin/Iame). Andrea Pirovino (TB Kart/Iame) then took 3rd position. The front two escaped while Riccardo Cirelli (Redspeed/Iame) went back to 3rd ahead of Antonio Apicella (Tony Kart/Iame) and Albanese. Pozzi won again, by 6 tenths against Weisenburger. 4” later, Apicella was 3rd on the last lap in front of Cirelli and Albanese. Malizia finished 9th, Lo Piccolo 11th, Barbe 13th, Rafaël Pérard (LN/Iame) 14th and Antony Pulciani (Redspeed/Iame) 18th.
Prefinal B
Elie Goldstein (TB Kart/Iame) was leading the race after Erika Lavazza (Tony Kart/Iame) tried to attack. Maximilian Schleimer (KR/Iame) was 2nd, Matteo Giaccardi (LN/Iame) 3rd, Luca Griggs (Falcom/Iame) 4th and Cristian Commanducci (Tony Kart/Iame) in 5th. Goldstein and Schleimer (under investigation) distanced themselves from the pack. They were separated by 3 tenths at mid-race and Schleimer continued to close in. Griggs overtook Giaccardi for P3. Lavazza made a superb comeback into the top ten after her first lap incident while Griggs came back on the leading duo. The British driver attacked the German for 2nd place with three laps to go and went after the Belgian. Griggs took 1st place on lap 15 after a gain of 10 positions. Schleimer attacked Goldstein for 2nd position. Griggs took the win by 2″ over Godstein who had passed Schleimer on the last lap. Giaccardi was 4th and Danny Carenini (Energy/Iame) 5th. Maxime Geley (Sodi/Iame) finished 12th and Ethan Gialdini (Sodi/Iame) 14th.
