Under the sun of Portimao, the 36 Micro Max finalists were preparing on the grid for their last race of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals with Majus Mazinas (LTU) and Maxim Bobreshov (ARE) on the front row. Marco Manson (NZL) took the lead at lights out ahead of Kacper Rajpold (POL), Mazinas 3rd and Jenson Chalk (GBR) 4th. The red flag immediately interrupted the race. A new full start was given 15 minutes later. This time Mazinas was leading the race against Manson, Martim Marques (POR) and Bobreshov. Manson took the lead on the second lap, while Albert Friend (GBR) moved into the top five. Bobreshov took the lead mid-race ahead of Mazinas in a group of six determined drivers. Mazinas then led the leading quartet who were 2″ ahead of the pack. Marques took the lead at the beginning of the last lap in front of Friend, Mazinas and Bobreshold. Friend tried everything he could, but Marques won against Mazinas and Friend after a 10-place gain.
