The WSK Open Cup resumed on Sunday morning in the beautiful weather at Lonato with the OK-Junior Prefinals.
Salim Hanna (LN/Vortex) led from start to finish in Prefinal A and won 2.3″ ahead of his team-mate Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) after Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex) retired at the end of the race. Miguel Costa (KR/Iame) was back in 3rd ahead of Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame), while Gerasim Skulanov (Birel ART/TM) moved up from 18th to 5th. Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) moved up nine positions to 6th and Luna Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) had a solid run to 7th.
Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) was able to race alone in the lead of Prefinal B. Elliot Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex) passed Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) in 2nd place, and Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) moved up to 3rd place. Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) finished 5th ahead of Zhenrui Chi (KR/TM). Jimmy Helias (Energy/TM) gradually lost ground and finished 9th ahead of Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart/Vortex). Andrea Dupe (Sodi/TM) came home 22nd just behind Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) did not finish.
