After the rain on Friday, the weather returned to normal on Saturday to complete the Qualifying Heats of the WSK Open Cup in Lonato. In OK-Junior, Salim Hanna Hernandez (LN/Vortex) and Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) finished on equal points, with two victories each and five places gained for the Colombian and 12 places regained for the German. Poleman Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) stayed on the pace in 3rd ahead of Griffin Peebles (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame). Jimmy Helias (Energy/TM) made a good comeback of seven places to 6th ahead of Peter Ageev (Birel ART/TM). Zenrui Chi (KR/TM) was 8th (up 12 places), Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex) 9th (up 12 places) and Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) 10th (up 15 places). Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) had moved up 11 places to 15th while Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) lost 23 positions. Andrea Dupé (Sodi/TM) had fallen to 56th place. Our thoughts are with the young Portuguese driver Maria Neto (Tony Kart/Vortex) who had an accident in the last race.
