The last stage before the Final, the Super Rounds of the FIA Karting European Championship – OK took place on Sunday morning in superb weather in Kristianstad.
Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) took the lead in Super Heat A ahead of Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex), while Alex Powell (KR/Iame) was 4th. Joe Turney was quickly back to 5th. Taponen passed for 2nd, 7 tenths of Nakamura-Berta at the 3rd lap, then Powell went back to 3rd and Turney 4th in front of Valtanen. Nakamura-Berta increased the pace to distance his rivals by 1.4” at the halfway point. Powell was pushing hard behind Taponen and attacked him with four laps to go for 2nd place. Nakamura-Berta won another undisputed victory 2,4” ahead of Powell and Taponen. Turney secured the 4th place, his best result of the weekend, Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) took 5th place. Behind Matheus Morgatto (KR/Iame), Evan Giltaire (KR/Iame) had fought hard to finish 7th. Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) could only take 13th.
Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) was followed by Olin Gali (CRG/Iame) at the start of Super Heat B ahead of David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Maxim Rehm (LN/Vortex). Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) had dropped to 7th place. Arthur Rogeon (KR/Iame) was 13th ahead of Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame). The gaps in the lead quickly began to close as Orlov moved back up to 5th behind Oscar Pedersen (Tony Kart/Vortex). Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame) was down to 11th. At the halfway point, Stolcermanis had built up a 1.3″ lead over Gali. Luka Sammalisto (KR/Iame) overtook Pedersen for 3rd place and Orlov followed in 4th place, while Walther had to retire due to technical problems. Stolcermanis took a clear victory 4,7” ahead of Galin and Sammalisto, Lindblad came back to 4th and Pedersen 5th ahead of Orlov. Rogeon finished 11th and Bolliet 13th.
