Good weather finally arrived in Genk for the Final of the FIA Karting European Championship – OK. Arvid Lindlad (KR/Iame) and Rafael Camara (KR/Iame) shared the front row ahead of Juho Valtanen (KR/TM) and Ariel Elkin (KR/Iame).
After two formation laps, two starts were not validated before the race actually started. Behind Lindblad, Valtanen and Zhinov were ahead of Camara. Edoardo Villa (Exprit/Vortex) moved up five places to 4th, passing Zhinov. Alfio Spina (Parolin/TM) did not finish the first lap. Valtanen attacked Lindblad, with Camara following him in 2nd position. On the third lap, James Wharton (Parolin/TM) had moved up seven places to 7th. There were constant clashes at all levels. Camara took the lead on lap 5, while Lindblad also passed Valtanen. Martinius Stenshorne (Birel ART/TM) moved up to 5th, but Nikola Tsolov (KR/Iame) took over shortly after. Camara had taken a 9-tenths lead by the 8th lap. Ariel Elkin (KR/Iame), Ugo Ugochukwu (KR/Iame), Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) made it into the top ten before the halfway mark.
At the halfway point, Camara was 1.3″ ahead of Lindblad, Tsolov had moved up to 3rd ahead of Villa and then Valtanen. Turney was back in 7th place a second behind Wharton. On the 16th lap, Lindblad surprisingly let Tsolov pass him in 2nd position. The Bulgarian then reduced the gap to the Brazilian leader. Camara nevertheless won, 4 tenths ahead of Tsolov who was then penalised for a loose spoiler. Lindblad secured 2nd position, Villa 3rd, ahead of Valtanen. Turney had made up 19 places to 6th ahead of Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/Iame) Morgatto, Artem Severiukin (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Ugochukwu in 10th.
