The OK Final of Adria’s WSK Super Master event was going to be exciting with Joseph Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) and James Wharton (Parolin/TM) on the front row in front of Thomas Ten Brinke (Kosmic/Vortex) and Kirill Smal (Energy/TM), not forgetting Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart/Vortex) in 5th position, on the inside row.
On the first lap, Turney led against Hiltbrand, Ten Brinke, Wharton and Harry Thompson (KR/Iame) while Smal was down to 7th. Wharton went off on lap 3 and was down in 15th spot. Ten Brinke attacked Hiltbrand for 2nd spot, soon followed by Thompson and Smal fought back in the battle for 5th. Ten Brinke dropped back to 6th and Thompson went after the leader Turney, 8 tenths in front of him. Franck Chappard (KR/Iame) was working hard to hold on to 12th place, while Marcus Amand (KR/Iame) moved up to 21st. Smal and Dilano Vant’Hoff (Exprit/TM) were back up to 3rd and 4th positions.
At the halfway point, Thompson was only 3 tenths behind his compatriot Turney, but Smal was pressing just behind him. An unsuccessful attack by Thompson gave Smal 2nd place and Hiltbrand came in 3rd. Ten Brinke finally retired. With four laps to go, the duel between Turney and Smal was on. Their pursuers regrouped at close range. With two laps to go, Turney and Smal made contact and lost positions. Hiltbrand found himself in the lead ahead of Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame), with Dilano Vant’Hoff (Exprit/TM) and Thompson in their wake. Hiltbrand won this crazy Final ahead of Barnard and Vant’Hoff, Thompson in 4th, Smal dropped from 5th to 7th due to a spoiler penalty, and Edoardo Villa (TB Kart/IAME) finished in the top five with Turney 6th. Amand moved up 13 places to 13th, while Chappard, 12th on the line, was 16th due to a spoiler penalty.
