Fair weather replaced the rain expected this Friday morning for the Mini Max Prefinal of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Sarno. The first lap went well and Andy Ratel (FRA) kept his pole position while Paul Alberto (FRA) took 2nd ahead of Adrian Malheiro Sune (ESP), Costa Toparis (AUS) and Jolan Raccamier (FRA). The leading group was lively with eight drivers battling for position. At the halfway point, Raccamier and Alberto came back to 2nd and 3rd behind Ratel. Raccamier then took the lead ahead of Ratel, Jayden Thien (NLD) came 3rd and George Kafantaris (GRC) 5th. Thien took 2nd place on the lap 7, Alberto took 4th place behind Ratel. Thien was in the lead for the last lap ahead of the three Frenchmen but Ratel won against Raccamier and Thien, then Kafantaris in 4th and Troy Snyman (ZAF) 5th after an gain of 19 places. Alberto finished 8th and Karel Schulz (FRA) climbed from 23rd to 16th place.
