The Qualifying Practice of the FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2 started in the sun at Lonato at 5pm. The fastest laps were often set on lap 5.
In the first session, Giacomo Pollini (Formula K / TM) confirmed his great form by managing to finish with the fastest time – 46”237 – while Thomas Landais (Sodi / TM) came close at less than a tenth and was ahead of David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex). Jean Nomblot (Sodi / TM) was 4th and Matej Kacovsky (KR / Iame) was in the top five ahead of Davids Trefilovs (Maranello / TM).
Emilien Denner (Sodi / TM) dominated the second session with several fastest laps and took provisional pole position with a time of 46″185 seconds, a full tenth ahead of Emil Skaras (Energy / TM). Danilo Albanese (Tony Kart / Vortex) followed in 3rd position ahead of Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Marco Tormen (Praga / TM) both 2 tenths behind.
The third session was generally slower with Simone Cunati’s fastest time (CRG / TM), 46”403, out of the provisional top 10. Massimo Dante (Maranello / TM) followed 69 thousandths behind ahead of Marcus Funda (GP / TM), then Andrea Dalé (CRG / TM) and Natalia Balbo (Formula K / TM) in the top five. Very quickly in action, Tom Leuillet (Praga / TM) ranked 7th.
The pace returned the fourth session with Senna Van Walstijn (KR / TM) and Michele Fontana (CKR / TM). The Dutchman finished on 46”295, the 4th fastest overall time, while the Italian was 7th overall 49 thousandths behind. Francesco Iacovacci (Maranello / TM) finished 3rd in this group at two-tenths, followed by Jean Luyet (CRG / TM) and Gerard Cebrian (CRG / TM). Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / TM) was 15th by 4 tenths.
