César Gazeau (FRA – FA Kart) and Illian Bruynseels (BEL – Tony Kart) were on the front row for the start of the Senior Prefinal of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy at Le Mans. Bruynseels and Oakley Pryer (GBR – Tony Kart) attacked Gazeau on lap 1, while Rhys Hunter (GBR – FA Kart) was 4th ahead of Lewis Gilbert (GBR – Tony Kart). With the drivers still very closely grouped, the situation was changing rapidly. Gazeau took 2nd ahead of Gilbert, then Pryer and Hunter, before dropping down to 4th position. Bruynseels took advantage of the fight behind him to distance his rivals. Further back, Charles Tesnière (FRA – Kosmic) made a nice comeback from 24th to 13th position. Behind Gilbert, Gazeau managed to take 3rd place by attacking Pryer. Valentin Gil (FRA – Tony Kart) also overtook the Briton to reach the top five and then rose to 3rd place. Bruynseels won with a strong lead of more than 5”, Gilbert ensured a strong 2nd place far ahead of Gil, who made a promising comeback. Gazeau had to settle for 4th place, with Guilherme De Oliveira (PRT – Kosmic).
