Under the watchful eye of the officials, the 36 Junior finalists of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy assembled on the starting grid of their Prefinal, with Mike Van Vugt (NLD – Exprit) and Oli Pylka (POL-FA Kart) on the front row. The battle began immediately after the lights went out. Kai Hunter (GBR – FA Kart) led on the first pass to Van Vugt, Dani Van Dijk (NLD – Exprit). Pylka took control soon after with Thom Reinardts (BEL – Exprit) 2nd. The slow flags were deployed after a roll at the first corner. The yellow turned to red to allow the ambulance on to the track on lap 5. The race resumed 15 minutes later under the slow procedure. Hunter took 2nd place, Joran Leneutre (FRA – Redspeed) came back to 5th with 12 places gained, Esteban Masson (FRA – Kosmic) dropped from 6th to 13th. Led by Hunter the leading group of five drivers was very lively. Pylka then recovered 1st place, but Van Vugt took the lead two laps from the finish. He was clear ahead of Pylka. Leneutre finished 3rd, Hunter 4th and Reinardts 5th. Kamal Saeed Mah Agha came back from 16th to 6th ahead of Samuel Gornall (GBR – Tony Kart) and Masson.
