Control of the oil mixed with fuel in the engines of racing karts has always been one of the duties of the stewards. BRP-Rotax is revolutionising the field today by incorporating an easily detectable fluorescent component into its well-known XPS oil.
At the first edition of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy, the new XPS Synmax Full Synthetic 2T Dye Kart Racing Oil has been released. Its lubricating properties and its use do not differ from the classic XPS Synmax Full Synthetic. Simply adding an element visible under black light makes all the difference for control.
Now, the tank or a hose can just be illuminated with a simple torch provided for this purpose to instantly confirm the mixture has been prepared with the right oil. Tested in real life at Le Mans during the Rotax International Trophy, where it must be used by all drivers, the XPS Dye has already proven itself in terms of simplicity and efficiency. It will soon be generalised to other events labelled by Rotax, to the satisfaction of competitors who are reassured to see suspicion disappearing at low cost.
