The nine Junior Qualifying Heats raced on Thursday, 22nd August at Le Mans were particularly lively at the cost of some incidents and penalties. Poleman Mike Van Vugt (NLD – Exprit) retained the advantage by winning three times, but Esteban Masson (FRA – Kosmic) also had three victories, but in an even more deserving fashion as he was recovering from 16th place in Qualifying. Oli Pylka (POL – FA Kart) remained in 3rd position ahead of Dani Van Dijk (NLD – Exprit) and Kai Hunter (GBR – FA Kart).
Sacha Clavadetscher (CHE – Tony Kart) had dropped to 45th, Ryan Shehan (USA – OTK) was 28th after a difficult run, while Florian Rousseau Ricci (FRA – Kosmic) gave up with a wrist injury after a clash with Maxime Marion (FRA – Tony Kart). Justin Polman (NLD – KR) returned from 28th to 6th place ahead of Jef Machiels (BEL – Exprit) who scored an impressive comeback from 58th in Qualifying.
Six heats remained to be contested before the names of the finalists would be released. The unofficial intermediate ranking produced by Kartcom can be followed here.
