The 18 candidates for the Winfield Volant have returned to the track. On Monday morning, February 25th, everyone had two Qualifying sessions to try to become one of the three finalists. Several drivers are less than five tenths behind, suggesting a suspenseful Final.
Twice, the Frenchman Jules Mettetal achieved excellent times, placing him at the top of the provisional hierarchy. Behind him, it’s close. The Briton Callum Bradshaw waited for the end of the morning to post a fast time, after seeming a little behind before the final run. It’s extremely tight between promising drivers like Evan Spenle, Nicky Hays, Hadrien David and Gillian Henrion.
For others, a place in the Final seems compromised. For the Winfield Trophy, Victor Bernier, Loris Cabirou and Kobe Pauwels spared no effort to improve, and Isack Hadjar was impressive in the morning. But it is the prestigious Winant Volant jury that will have the last word.
