The sumptuous and modern infrastructure of the Paul Ricard circuit and the Winfield group allowed the young drivers to experience a particularly educational first day. They had the opportunity to discover the Mygale FIA F4 in detail and refine their driving position. On Sunday, 24th February, everyone was eager to take to the 3.8 km circuit of Le Castellet to tame their car and this far from easy to learn track.
“The Paul Ricard circuit has the unique feature of flat kerbs and great clearances, so that it is difficult to use visual cues,” says Stéphane Daoudi, one of the qualified instructors present to provide supervision to the drivers. “In addition, the tarmac has been redone and it is not easy to find the grip in some corners.”
Thanks to video debriefings and examination of data acquisition, the drivers should make quick progress throughout the day where they will go on track on no less than four occasions, for sessions of 20 minutes each.
The icing on the cake, the sun has shone for several days over Provence and should stay with the drivers until the end of the Winfield Volant, with very pleasant temperatures for the season!
