Although the events at Adria were similar in terms of results for the RFM team, the weather changed between the Champions Cup and the first round of the Super Master Series by WSK Promotion. This weekend was very wet and the Adria Karting Raceway remained slippery during most of the meeting. That did not stop Thomas Ten Brinke from reaching the OK-Junior podium again while James Wharton and Ugo Ugochukwu moved up into the top 10. In OK, Harry Thompson made a tremendous 22-place Final climb to cross the finish line 2nd.
The rainy weather, however, made it difficult for drivers and technicians with many changes in grip, increased risk of contact, and penalties. Starting 24th and 25th after Qualifying, the two OK drivers from the British team slightly improved their positions in the heats, but found themselves back in the initial situation at the start of the Final. On a virtually dry track, Harry Thompson outdid himself with a legendary comeback, regaining 22 places in 20 laps. Finishing in 2nd position, he was ranked 5th after another spoiler penalty, but his achievement was still memorable. Kai Askey also drove a great Final with a 12-place gain to 14th.
It was a strong journey for Thomas Ten Brinke in OK-Junior. 6th in Qualifying, he won his first heat, but regressed in the last, despite a fastest lap. From 13th position on the grid for the Final, he finished very strongly and mounted the third step of the podium and returned to the top five of the championship. Ugo Ugochukwu proved excellent in the final stages of the competition after encountering some difficulties during the heats where he finished in 37th place. He was already 11 places up in the wet Prefinal A and progressed further nine positions in the Final to finish 7th after a good effort.
This time James Wharton started the heats from his 24th place in Qualifying. Several times penalised for his spoiler, he used all his abilities in the Final where he managed to gain 23 places to reach an excellent 9th position. Ranked 11th in Qualifying, Christian Ho shone in in the heats with three top threes including a victory that gave him 7th place in the standings on Saturday night. He lost some ground in Prefinal A and finished 15th in the Final, which allowed him to join the top 10 of the championship.
Conrad Laursen got off to a good start with his 7th fastest lap and four heats in the top three, including a win, a top-notch performance that allowed him to take the lead in the category. Ranked 5th in Prefinal A because of a penalty, he was fighting hard in the Final pack to finish 14th on the line and 24th in the results after another spoiler penalty.
Laurens Van Hoepen showed great determination in the heats to climb from 60th to 28th in the competition. He unfortunately missed his qualification due to an incident on the last lap of his Prefinal. He consoled himself by winning Final B by more than five seconds, having regained 14 positions and posted the fastest lap.
