Separated into two sessions and interspersed between the KZ2 and KZ Qualifying, the 47 drivers in the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy made the suspense last over the course of the laps. With nearly 30 drivers grouped in 4 tenths, the positions changed constantly. In the first session, Sami Meguetounif set the bar high with a time of 48 “562, ahead of the Brazilian Guilherme A. De Figueiredo by a few hundredths.
In the second session, the Italian Federico Albanese took advantage of his perfect knowledge of the circuit to improve his lap times, but his best lap was 6 thousandths off that of the Frenchman. Behind him, Joshua Cortze of South Africa ended up in 3rd position in the aggregate of the two sessions in front of De Figueiredo.
Britain’s Joshua Rattican, Lithuanian Kajus Siksnelis and Frenchman Craig Tanic took the following places, in the same tenth as the poleman!
