The 63 drivers in the European Junior Championship took to the Kristianstad track in very good weather, just after the few KZs. At 3’30” from the end of the first session, only four drivers were in action. Hugo Sasse (CRG / Parilla) was the most consistent at the top of the standings and confirmed the fastest time – 52”371 – ahead of Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) and Zak O’Sullivan (FA Kart / Vortex). Dexter Patterson (Exprit / TM) was 4th in front of Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex). 7th position went to Jules Mettetal (Kosmic / Parilla), 15th to Loris Cabirou (Sodi / TM) and 17th to Gillian Henrion (Tony Kart / Vortex), while Mattia Michelotto (Zanardi / Parilla) was last by more than seven tenths.
Suleiman Zanfari (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in the lead with Caesar Kristiansson (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Fabian Almqvist (Tony Kart / Vortex) two minutes from the end of Session 2, soon after their entry on the track. Jack Doohan (FA Kart / Vortex), then Chris Lulham (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Andrea Rosso (Tony Kart / Vortex) temporarily took the lead, but Doohan finished with 52″567 – the best time – against Rosso and Lulham, Elie Goldstein (Kosmic / Parilla) finished 4th and Hadrien David (Zanardi / Parilla) 5th.
Roman Stanek (Kosmic / Vortex), Alexandros Kattoulas (Exprit / TM) and Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart / Vortex) were among the fastest in the third session, and Wladislav Lomko (Kosmic / Parilla) joined the lead group. Stanek was the fastest with 52”670, followed by Kattoulas and Lomko, Morozov took 4th place ahead of Viktor Andersson (Tony Kart / Vortex). But this last session was slower than the other two.
So Sasse took pole position in OK-Junior ahead of Edgar and O’Sullivan, then Doohan and Patterson in the top five.
