Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Tony Kart / Vortex) was the poleman in 60 Mini at La Conca in the third round of the 2017 WSK Super Master Series. Gabriele Mini (Parolin / TM) took 2nd in the heats with three wins and a 2nd place. Behind Antonelli, Brazil’s Rafael Camara (Birel ART / TM) was brilliantly ahead of the fastest Russian Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart / TM) and Han Cenyu (Energy / TM) of China. Ugo Ugochukwu (Energy / Iame) took 6th place.
Michael Barbaro Paparo (IPK / TM) came back strongly and attacked Mini in the last corner of Prefinal A to win, South Africa’s Saood Variawa (CRG / TM) finished 3rd ahead of Luca Giardelli (CRG / TM) and Martinius Stenhorne (CRG / TM). Antonelli escaped from the start of Prefinal B and won with more than a 3.5″ lead. Behind him, the fight raged between Bedrin and Ugochukwu, later joined by Alfio Spina (CRG / TM) and Raffaele Gulizia (IPK / TM). Bedrin took the lead in 2nd position, Spina finished 3rd ahead of Ugochukwu and Gulizia. Enzo Scionti (Tony Kart / TM) and Enzo Trulli (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished in 8th place.
Antonelli kept the lead at the start of the Final, but Bedrin and Mini stayed in front of Paparo, followed by a few lengths of Spina and Ugochukwu. But it did not last: Paparo took 1st place on the third lap, Bedrin recovered control in front of Spina and Mini on the next lap. At midway, Spina led, followed by Bedrin and Antonelli. Ugochukwu then passed for 2nd and then the first of a group of six over-motivated drivers on lap 7. Spina was again leading on lap 8, with Mini recovering to 2nd position in front of Stenhorne, who moved up from 10th position. Spina crossed the finish line first, but a penalty for a dropped spoiler put him back to 12th and Mini was declared the winner ahead Stenhorne, who set the fastest lap, and Bedrin. Ugochukwu finished 4th and Paparo 5th.
