Adam Kout won his second consecutive European title after a great duel with Peter Elkmann, who had taken the advantage at the first race of the last Competition of the season at Assen (NLD). A factory driver for the MS Kart brand, Adam is unanimously popular in the paddock. He emphasised his control this season by winning four victories with five results to count.
The first race at Assen seemed to distribute the cards at the start, then you accelerated the pace to win by a comfortable margin, did you envisaged this scenario?
– I often miss my starts at Assen, but I did not panic. I knew I could rely on my speed to return to the front, so I didn’t take unnecessary risks. It is never easy to win, but I was still very relaxed.
The title was won in Race 1, but was the second race more difficult?
– There was joy for the whole team and we relaxed after taking the title. I went to bed late and I lacked the freshness to confirm our competitiveness on Sunday.
We saw you less than your opponents in the other continental competitions to prepare for the European Championship. Would that have been a handicap?
– I’m not being awkward, I go to circuits where the team is scheduled to appear and the British and French Championships are quite a long way from the Czech Republic. However, I came to Zandvoort with pleasure. We prepare our equipment carefully and we take the events philosophically.
Was the experience of this second title different from the first?
– It is a great joy, the season has been great and I am moved in the same way. It’s always a great pleasure to be able to give such a reward to the team. I thank them all, Milan Šimák, Milena Vachtfeitlová, and finally my father!
