Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) only went a few metres before leaving the scene of the Final of the European KZ2 Championship following a clash with Tommaso Mosca (Maranello / TM). Matteo Vigano (Top Kart / Parilla) was quickly replaced by Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) in front of the race, with John Norris (Tony Kart / Vortex) 3rd, Stan Pex (CRG / Vortex) 4th and Alexander Schmitz (Birel ART / Vortex) 5th. There was a good performance from Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 6th by the third lap.
Vigano then replaced Lorandi in 1st place and took a few steps ahead. But Norris took 2nd and closed the gap on the leader while Schmitz was launched in pursuit of Norris.
The top two widened the gap, but Viagno remained out of reach of Norris. While we waited for his attack on Pex, Schmitz was overtaken by Besancenez with four laps to go. The Frenchman attacked Pex with panache.
Vigano won brilliantly against Norris, Lorandi was 3rd on the line, but penalised 10” for ignoring a yellow flag. Beasancenez took 3rd place ahead of Pex. Schmitz didn’t keep 6th place due to a dropped spoiler. Matisic was therefore 5th and Irlando 6th. Felice Tiene (CRG / TM) finished 7th, Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) 16th with a gain of 17 seats, Nicolas Picot (Tony Kart / Vortex) 18th and Paul Fontaine (Sodi / TM) 20th.
Although non-qualified for the Final, Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena) has enough points to win the title of European Champion ahead of Pex and Vigano, separated by a single point.
