10 heats were on the programme of the day at Zuera for the European Championship for OK-Junior. The races have not been very exciting, although the young drivers are sometimes overexcited in their approach to racing. We must say that the front fairing fasteners no longer have as much of a deterrent role as last year and the number of spoilers dislodged at the finish is increasing. The CIK-FIA is looking at the subject. Drivers hindering their opponents by closing the doors were not uncommon, ruining the sporting quality of the event.
The fact remains that the battle was intense between the leader Noah Watt (Tony Kart / Vortex), the poleman, Sami Taoufik (FA Kart / Vortex) and Isac Blomqvist (Tony Kart / Vortex) as close rivals. The difference is very small between these three drivers. Fin Kenneally (FA Kart / Vortex) and David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) completed the top five.
Among the noteworthy performances: Ugo De Wilde (Kosmic / Parilla) stayed in the top 10 ahead of Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart / Vortex), Esteban Muth (CRG / Parilla) is 14th, Mikhail Simonov (Tony Kart / Vortex ) 16th, Gabriel North (Tony Kart / Vortex) 22nd. However others met their share of annoyances like Dennis Hauger (CRG / Parilla) only 19th, Hampus Eriksson (Tony Kart / Vortex) 23rd due to a retirement, and Ulysses De Pauw (Birel ART / Parilla) off the pace with his 37th position.
In the French clan, the record is mixed. Timothy Peisselon (FA Kart / Vortex) recovered to an interesting 8th, and Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) is in 13th place. Despite a retirement caused by a race incident, Gillian Henrion (Kosmic / Vortex) confirmed his progress in 24th with very good results. Theo Nouet (Energy / TM) in 28th, beat Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic / Vortex) in 29th and Victor Martins (Kosmic / Parilla) has been busy to regain 45 positions since Qualifying. Milan Petelet (Praga / Parilla), delayed by an engine that would not start, is in 43rd position. Adam Eteki (Tony Kart / Vortex) suffered in two of his four races and found himself 45th, in a manner similar to Thomas Mialane (Energy / TM) 47th. After his mishap in Qualifying, William Bertrtand (Tony Kart / Vortex) responded by reaching 52nd position, two places ahead of Franck Chappard (Kosmic / Vortex), followed by Pierre-Louis Chovet (CRG / Parilla) in 55th, and Xavier Dias ( Kosmic / Parilla), not bad for a beginner, closing the peloton in 63rd position.
