The Junior Max Prefinal began with a rather serious accident at the fast right after the start line, requiring the race to be stopped. A few minutes later, the restart was calmer. Harrison Thomas led from Roope Ropanen, Scott Symons, Trenton Estep and Florian Venturi. Ropanen took the lead on lap 3, Venturi had risen to 3rd place, 1″ from Thomas, while Aaron Cameron and Axel Charpentier repositioned themselves in the top five. Jules Bollier had already moved up from 34th to 15th position. Behind the leading duo of Ropanen and Thomas, Venturi was closely followed by Cameron, then Charpentier, Dean MacDonald and Caio Collet by 0.8s. The top four were together at halfway and outpaced the following trio by 1.2s. Symons was demoted to 8th position.
Ropanen took off in front of Thomas, Cameron was a few lengths behind Venturi. Bollier entered the top 10 on lap 8. Ropanen was 9 tenths ahead of Venturi himself 9/10 ahead of Charpentier. Thomas dropped to 6th behind Symons and Collet. Ropanen won masterfully against Venturi, who wasvery convincing, with Charpentier 3rd, Thomas 4th, Collet 5th and Bollier, the last qualified from the repechage, an incredible 6th.
