The Italian Alex Alex got the better of the Estonian Sten Piirimaegi midway through the first timed series in 125 Max at Portimao, while the Omani driver Abdullah Al Rawahi moved up to 3rd. The times were changing but Alex retained his reference time, 1’00”362. The Japanese Hirotaka Sasaki was now 4th and Giuliano Cucciolillo of Switzerland 5th. The French driver Emmanuel Reviriault set the 13th fastest time by 0.284”.
Edward Brand (GBR), Pierce Lehane (AUS) and Kyle Kirkwood (USA) posted the first significant lap times in the second session with lower than 1’01”. But the Turkish driver Berkay Besler set a time of 1’00”302, 0,122” faster than Lehane and Brand. Brad Jenner (AUS) took 4th place ahead of Maxim Shtotland (RUS). The Frenchman Arnaud Sarrazin finished 17th and Nicolas Duchateau 27th.
Both sessions proved fairly balanced, Besler took pole position ahead of Alex, with Lehane 3rd, Piirimaegi 4th and Al Rawahi 5th.
