30 places available at legendary racing school
Winfield Racing School has opened the application process for its highly anticipated Winter Selection programme.
The prestigious training scheme is due to be re-launched in January 2016 and offers up to 30 drivers from around the world a unique opportunity to make the challenging step from karts to single-seater racing. The winner receives a fully funded season in a competitive European FIA Formula 4 championship with renowned junior squad, Prema Powerteam.
Successful applicants will complete a rigorous programme at Paul Ricard Circuit where they will take part in six qualifying sessions and nine races across three meetings on January 8-24.
As well as the chance to complete over 4000km in a brand new FIA Formula 4 single-seater across 12 days of running, every participant will receive world-class tuition in all aspects of contemporary motor racing. Indeed, candidates will benefit from workshops designed to develop their technical skills and enhance their knowledge of rules and regulations, insurance, physical and mental preparation, media training, and racing conduct.
The Winter Selection programme aims to maintain the spirit and success of the famous Winfield Racing School, which was established in 1964 and helped kick-start the careers of multiple racing stars. Among its former pupils are several successful Formula 1 drivers, including Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Jean Alesi and Olivier Panis, who together with other Winfield alumni went on to record a combined 90 Grand Prix wins and five F1 World Championship titles.
