At La Conca, Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) posted the fastest time of the first qualifying session for the World KF Championship with a final lap of 45”729. Casper Andersen Roes (FA Kart / Vortex) took 2nd place by 0.168” ahead of Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Parilla), Jordon Lennox-Lamb (BirelART / Parilla) and Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla). Juan Correa (Energy / TM) didn’t complete a lap.
There was a big battle between Van Leeuwen, Verschoor and Hanley in the second session. Richard Verschoor (Exprit / Vortex) came back to 1st place in the very last moments of the session with a lap of 45”755, one tenth better than Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM) and 2/10 faster than Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM). By far the fastest in free practice, Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) was satisfied with 4th position ahead of Juho Valtanen (Kosmic / Vortex).
Nielsen was as one might expect on pole position, but 2nd position for Verschoor just 26 thousandths off the leader was a pleasant surprise. Van Leeuwen was ranked 3rd, Roes Andersen 4th and Hiltbrand 5th. Basz was content with 7th place behind Hanley.
